Advertising policy

How the site is funded

The tools and guides are free. To cover the cost of running and maintaining them, the site may show advertising served by Google AdSense. We do not charge for any tool.

Our rules

• Ads never affect results. A calculation is the same whether or not ads are shown, and advertisers cannot influence a result, a ranking or a recommendation.
• Ads are labelled. Every ad is marked as an advertisement and kept apart from the content. We do not disguise ads as tools or navigation.
• No ads in sensitive places. We do not show ads on the contact, privacy, cookie, terms or search pages, or in the admin area.
• Consent first. Advertising cookies load only after you accept them. If you reject them, you will not receive them, and you can change your mind at any time from the privacy choices link in the footer.
• No paid placement. We do not sell reviews, rankings or sponsored guides. If we ever publish sponsored content or add affiliate links, they will be clearly labelled where they appear.

Personalised advertising

Where you allow it, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your interests. Without consent, any ads shown are not personalised using cookies. You can manage this with Google Ad Settings. See our cookie policy and privacy policy for details.

Report an ad

If you see an ad that is misleading, offensive or unsuitable, tell us through the contact page with the page address and a description, and we will look into it and report it to the ad network where needed.
