DailySmartTools

Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data DailySmartTools handles, why, and what choices you have. The short version: the tools run in your browser, and we collect very little.

Who is responsible

The controller of your personal data is The Machine Selle, based in Finland. To ask about your data or exercise your rights, use the contact page or write to themachineseller@gmail.com.

What stays in your browser

The calculators, converters and text tools process what you type on your own device. The numbers, text and images you enter are not sent to our servers. Some tools save things in your browser’s local storage so they are still there next time: your theme choice, saved calculations, favourite and recently used tools, your to-do list, habit tracker and timer settings. This data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser. The cookie policy lists each item.

What we do receive

Server logs

Like any website, our hosting provider’s servers record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser type. We use these to keep the site running, to detect abuse and to fix errors. Logs are kept for a short period set by the hosting provider.

Messages you send us

If you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, the topic and your message. We use them to reply and to fix or improve the site. We do not add you to any mailing list. We keep messages only as long as needed for that purpose, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or steps you ask us to take.

If email notifications are enabled, the message is also sent to us by email through Brevo, our email delivery provider, which processes it on our behalf.

To limit spam, the form server temporarily counts submissions per IP address in memory. This count is not stored permanently.

Analytics (optional)

At present we do not use analytics cookies. If we add analytics, it will load only after you accept it.

Advertising (optional)

The site may show ads served by Google AdSense. When advertising is enabled, it loads only after you accept advertising cookies. Google and its partners may then use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, and to personalise them where you allow it. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy choices link in the footer. To learn more or manage personalised ads, see how Google uses data from sites that use its services and Google Ad Settings.

Why we use data and on what basis

  • Running and securing the site (server logs, spam limits): our legitimate interest.
  • Replying to messages: our legitimate interest or steps at your request.
  • Optional analytics and advertising cookies: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions that affect you.

Who we share data with

We use a hosting provider to serve the site and store messages, and an email delivery provider (Brevo) to notify us of new messages. If you accept them, Google receives data through Analytics and AdSense. We share data with authorities only if the law requires it. Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, using safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy, and withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise a right, contact us. We may need to verify who you are first.

Residents of some US states have similar rights. We do not sell personal information. When advertising is enabled, ad cookies may count as “sharing” for cross-context advertising in some states, and you can opt out through the privacy choices link or Google Ad Settings.

Children

The site is a general audience site and is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets that age. We do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and we limit access to messages. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will describe material changes on this page.
